Hello and welcome to guided meditation VR. My name is Alamay, and I’ll be your guide through this meditation.
Optimism can feel elusive when we’re surrounded by obstacles, worrying events, or stressed out loved ones.
However, we all have the ability to see the bright side in any scenario. Optimists are not delusional, they can understand what is going on objectively, the good and the bad.
But they can also focus their attention on what is going well. The easiest way to experience this is by practicing gratitude. Gratitude helps to flip your mindset into looking at what is already going good in your life. By practicing gratitude, it trains the mind to focus on what is going well.
And then the brain will continue to seek out other things in life that are going well. It’s a compounding experience. The more you practice it, the more impactful it gets. Let’s try this out. Just take some time to absorb the environments you’re in.
Let the beautiful colors in scenery around you affect your body.
If there’s music around you, let the wonderful music affect you. Let your breath relax and allow your body to sink into the surface it is resting upon.
I’m going to ask you some gentle questions here. Just let your mind fill in the blanks. If it takes some time to think of anything that is okay. Be with your breath. If nothing comes to mind, let’s start small at first.
What are you grateful for about today?
What are you grateful for about this meditation?
What are you grateful for about this moment?
What are you grateful for about how you meditate or how you are trying it out?
What are you grateful for about yourself?
What are you grateful for about your loved ones around you.
What are you grateful for about your life?
What are you grateful for about where your life can go?
What are you grateful for about the unknown future?
What are you grateful for about seeing the world in a more optimistic way?
Moving forward and very slowly, taking some time to feel your feet and likes again.
Maybe moving them around a little, feeling them, being mindful of your physical environments around you.
Feeling your torso, and notice if there are any different sensations here than before. Perhaps taking a little stretch here.
Feeling your arms and hands, perhaps moving them around a little, being mindful of where you are.
And feeling your neck and head again. Perhaps moving them around scrunching up your face or stretching it out. having some fun with this.
Connecting to your whole body, taking a deep breath as you come back.

Consider coming back to this meditation. Whenever you would like to feel more optimistic about life. Or consider pondering over one thing you are grateful for every day on your own.
Start small and eventually it may be your default outlook on life after a while.
