Transcript

Hello, and welcome to this meditation for relaxation and stress relief. Whatever is going on in your life, there is always time to calm down your body and just relax. Although some stress in life is beneficial, chronic stress can take a toll on our emotions, body and mind.

Stress in our bodies is a bit like a pressure cooker. If you don’t give time to release the steam, it’s just going to keep building and building in the pot. Our bodies are like the pots and having our bodies repress, avoid or tense up as we hold down the stress can add up over time, using up energy and potentially causing health issues.

This meditation can help you release a bit of that stress. So let’s begin and step into relaxation today.

Take a moment to note how your body feels now. If you could rate your stress levels out of 10 what would it be and just release that number for now. We’ll come back to it later.

Settle into whatever surface you’re resting upon. Feel the heaviness of your body today. Allow your breath to slow down. Perhaps breathing from the bottom of your belly if that feels good for you. Listen to your body and just follow along the best you can.

If you get overwhelmed during this, simply bring your awareness back to your breath. We will be breathing into the tension of your body a byproduct of holding stress in imagine that all the tension and stress in your head just melts off onto the ground below you on your exhalations. Inhaling into any tension in your head and exhaling out as you feel the tension melt away from your head into the ground beneath you. You can imagine it like liquid tar melting away. Water flowing down your body or however you wish. If you don’t want to use your imagination today, just feel your body getting heavier into the ground as you breathe. Imagine that all the tension from your neck just melts off of your body into the ground beneath you on your exhalations.

Imagine that all the tension from your upper shoulders, shoulder blades and collarbone area just melts off of your body into the ground beneath you on your exhalations.

Imagine that all the tension from your upper arms and elbows just melts off of your body into the ground beneath you on your exhalations.

Imagine that all the tension from your lower arm, wrists and hands just melts off your body into the ground beneath you on your exhalations.

Imagine that all the tension from your chest and upper back just melts off your body into the ground beneath you on your exhalations.

Imagine that all the tension from your upper abdomen, ribcage and midback just melts off of your body into the ground beneath you on your exhalations.

Imagine that all the tension from your lower abdomen, all internal organs, lower back, just melts off of your body into the ground beneath you on your exhalations.

Imagine that all the tension from your hips, groin and buttocks just melts off of your body into the ground beneath you on your exhalations.

Imagine that all the tension from your upper legs and knees just melts off of your body into the ground beneath you on your exhalations.

Imagine that all the tension from your lower legs, ankles and feet just melts off of your body into the ground beneath you on your exhalations.

Feel your whole body relaxing as you breathe, absorb the refreshing oxygen into your body. And as you exhale, release any remaining tension into the ground.

Very slowly. Just notice the colors around you and the environment that you’re in. How do your stress levels feel now, out of 10? Was there a big difference for you?

If you enjoy this meditation, you can come back here whenever you wish to relax and destress as you move through your day. Just remember to keep your breathing slow, and consider drinking plenty of water.

The best stress relief tools are things that you can repeat every day. So see what you enjoy doing that relaxes you and consider planning more of that into your schedule. Thank you for listening to guided meditation VR, and I hope you have a relaxing day.

Although some stress in life is beneficial, chronic stress can take a toll on our emotions, body and mind.
